I keep hoping that the more people I tell about Kula and the more "misfits" I give away around here, the noticeable decrease in trail tp will snowball its way across the country! ❤️
As far as things I’m looking forward to, back country permits open on Monday for Olympic NP, and my mom and I are coming to see your performance in Seattle! I’m very excited for that!
Oh my goodness, you will be there! Amazing! Please come say hello after the concert if you are able to -- we usually wait out in the lobby and I bought some special stickers to give away! And I hope you snag the best permits ever -- are there any you are hoping to get specifically?
I will definitely try to say hi after, I’ll be the socially awkward one in the corner 😂 taking the family to Flapjack Lakes for sure, maybe Royal Basin.
If it's too busy afterwards no worries -- I totally understand that as well! I'm also socially awkward -- I just put on a good show lol. Flapjack is amazing -- I fell asleep on a log there many, many years ago and was woken up by a fawn sniffing me - ha! And Royal Basin is remarkable. I prefer camping at Royal Lake at then dayhiking up to Upper Royal Basin (which is TRULY special!). The campsites at Royal are nice and secluded -- I think we camped in the 2nd campsite on your left as you are walking next to the lake -- it's totally secluded and private if you can snag it! :) Let me know how your permit applications go - that's really exciting!
I love your mom! I have a weird habit of taking photos of my Kula cloth hanging from my pack in random locations. 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll be in your area in a week; if you see me and my Kula, please approach me 😂
I LOVE when Daryl and I surprise each other with a previously unknown fact or talent. We've been together for 15 years and are always amazed when it happens! We also laugh every single day. Isn't it the very best?!
Every time I get a new WTA or Mountaineers magazine, I play a game of "find a Kula". There isn't always one to find, but I am always so excited when they are there!

I hope so too!! Isn't it fun to think about a day when seeing TP on a trail is the exception?!

Will definitely let you know! I’ve dayhiked to Flapjack on a trail work party and fell in love! Can’t wait to stay there.

I'd love to see your photos -- that makes me so happy ... and I hope our paths do cross very soon!
I emailed one last week and received a lovely response from your sister (I think!)
